Watermelon Berry is a bright, tropical song about moving from one same-sex crush to the next with youthful hunger and joy. It's about capturing one's hot gurl moments. It captures the seasons of attraction: brief relationships, one-night sparks, trysts, obsessions, and the rush of believing every new crush might become its own universe. For Past Mirea members, their romantic field is ABCD: Anyone But Cis Men. The music leans into a Carribean dance-pop feel with syncopated plucked synths, marimba-style stabs, a rounded bass groove, and playful bounce. Rather than relying on heavy drums, the rhythm comes from tonal hits that make the track feel light, bright, and slightly mischievous. Watermelon Berry is about crushes as movement: sweet, impulsive, fleeting, and still worth tasting.
